Use this guide to archive Yahoo Mail in 0rd Mail Archive over IMAP.
Yahoo expects an app password for third-party IMAP access when account security features are on. Your everyday Yahoo password usually will not work in 0rd.
What you need
- A Yahoo Mail account
- Access to Yahoo Account Security to create an app password
- A 0rd account at 0rd.eu/archive
1. Generate a Yahoo app password
- Sign in to Yahoo and open Account Security
(from login.yahoo.com → account info → Account Security, or the equivalent path Yahoo shows for your region).
- Turn on two-step verification if Yahoo asks for it before app passwords.
- Open Generate app password (wording may be App passwords).
- Choose a mail app / other, name it
0rd Archive, and generate. - Copy the app password Yahoo displays.
Exact menu names change occasionally; look for App password under account security.
2. Enter the mailbox in 0rd
- Sign in at 0rd.eu/archive and open Archive.
- Under Connect IMAP archive, enter:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| IMAP host | imap.mail.yahoo.com |
| IMAP port | 993 |
| IMAP username | Your full Yahoo address (for example you@yahoo.com) |
| IMAP password | The Yahoo app password |
- Choose Start archiving.
If something fails
- Invalid password — Create a fresh app password; do not use your normal Yahoo login password.
- Two-step / app password unavailable — Complete Yahoo’s security setup first; some account types restrict third-party access.
- Connection errors — Confirm host
imap.mail.yahoo.comand port993.
Notes
- 0rd only needs IMAP for archiving (no SMTP settings).
- Revoke the app password in Yahoo Account Security when you no longer sync that mailbox.
